My group is currently preoccupied with addressing some of the fundamental aspects of molecular self-assembly  at the nano-level. I am particularly interested in the areas of utilizing surface radicals to form useful bonding of biofunctional organics to silicon surface. My group is also dedicated towards understanding and interpreting bond formation processes, notably discerning the delicate molecular dynamics on silicon surfaces during bond formation. Along the way, many useful surface characteristics such as anti-biofouling and modulating surface wettability have been achieved and I am currently integrating such surface physicochemical features with many existing biological systems such as inducing differentiation of Stem Cells for example.

I am always looking for keen and outstanding candidates to join in our endeavors on surface chemistry, biosensing and biomaterial research.

Research Focus

My group is interested in the chemical dynamics from silicon surface modification and its applicability in terms of interfacing with biological materials, namely tissue engineering. Some of the key features of my research are:
